Ladybug & Cat Noir: The Movie is now streaming on Netflix, and tons of people are watching the new animated film. Throughout the movie, many songs are sung by various characters. But who’s behind the singing voice of the main character Marinette/Ladybug? As always, we know the answer and shared it below.
Based on the animated series, Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, Ladybug & Cat Noir: The Movie tells the origin story of teen superhuman Ladybug and her superhuman partner Cat Noir. Together, they must defeat supervillain Hawk Moth and his minions, who are causing destruction in the streets of Paris.
Talented voice actress Cristina Vee reprises the voice role of Marinette/Ladybug from the Miraculous animated series in the film. Bryce Papenbrook, who voices Adrien/Cat Noir in the animated series, also returns to voice the same characters in the film. Other original voice cast members returning to voice their respective characters in the movie include Keith Silverstein (Gabriel/Hawk Moth), Mela Lee (Tikki), Max Mittelman (Plagg), and Carrie Keranen (Alya).
Since Cristina Vee voices Marinette/Ladybug in the animated movie, you’re probably thinking she’s also the person singing for the character. Well, this is not true. Someone else is behind Marinette/Ladybug’s singing voice. In fact, French singer Lou Jean is the mystery person.
Lou Jean, also known as Lou, is a 19-year-old French singer from Castres, Tarn, France. After participating in the third season of The Voice Kids and coming in second place, Lou decided to work on her first album. As of July 2023, she has three albums in total. She’s also an actress best known for her role as Betty Moreno in the French soap opera Tomorrow Is Ours.
Lou also sings for Marinette/Ladybug in the French version of the movie.
The mystery person behind the singing voice for Adrien/Cat Noir is Drew Ryan Scott, an American singer and producer. He’s also a former member of the American boy band Varsity Fanclub. He has written and produced songs for well-known artists like Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, and the Jonas Brothers.
French singer Elliott sings for Adrien/Cat Noir in the French version.
